TYPO3 v11 LTS: A chapter comes to an end - time for something new
Have the article read aloud.
The free support for TYPO3 v11 LTS ends on 10/30/2024 - a date that marks the end of an era for many of us. V11 has been the stable and reliable foundation for many projects. But I am convinced that the time is perfect to take the next step and move to the latest TYPO3 version.
TYPO3 v11 has achieved a lot. Thanks to the continuous security updates, the intensive work of the developer community and the many optimizations, this version has been able to secure and modernize numerous projects over the years. But with the end of support approaching, it is high time to take advantage of the newer versions. With TYPO3 v12 and soon v13, you can expect not only more functionalities, but also significant improvements in areas such as performance, security and user-friendliness. The upgrade not only brings you the security of a fully supported system, but also opens new doors that were previously closed.
Of course, a version change is always associated with effort. But seeing this effort as a sensible investment in the future of your project makes all the difference. Because every new version not only brings technical security, but also possibilities that are simply not available in older systems. For me it is clear: TYPO3 will remain alive and innovative if we keep pace with further development.
The TYPO3 community has achieved impressive things in recent years - and we should continue to drive this innovative strength forward together. I'm looking forward to the new features and possibilities that the latest versions offer and I'm excited to see what we can implement with them.
What do you think? How are you dealing with the upcoming end of support for TYPO3 v11 LTS? Do you still have active projects with v11?
Let me know in the comments - I look forward to your opinion!

Hi, I'm Wolfgang.
I have been working with TYPO3 since 2006. Not in theory, but in real projects with real deadlines. I've probably had the problems you're having three times already.
At some point, I started putting my knowledge into video courses. Not because I like being in front of the camera, but because I kept hearing the same questions over and over again. There are now hundreds of videos. Every single one was the result of a specific question from a specific project.
What makes me different from a YouTube tutorial: I not only know the solution, but also the context. Why something works. When it doesn't work. And which mistakes you can avoid because I've already made them.
My participants use me as a sparring partner. Not in the sense of "call me anytime", but like this: You come to the live session with a specific problem, post your question in the community or watch the appropriate video. And get an answer that works because it comes from practical experience.
As a member of the TYPO3 Education & Certification Committee, I make sure that the certification exams are kept up to date. What is tested there flows directly into my courses.
