2. attention: symfony/dependency-injection 7.4 can break TYPO3 systems
Since 27.11.2025, version 7.4 of the symfony/dependency-injection package has been causing problems in TYPO3 installations. Extensions that were written to be compatible across versions are particularly affected. The new version forces Composer to load all PHP files. This can lead to errors. A temporary fix is to explicitly request version 7.3.x in composer.json.

3. composer 2.9 brings automatic security check for TYPO3
Composer 2.9 is here and brings three practical new features. The automatic blocking of insecure packages is particularly relevant. By default, Composer prevents updates to packages with known security vulnerabilities. This reduces the risk of rolling out vulnerable versions in production environments. There are also new CLI commands for repository management and automatic resolution of lockfile conflicts.

4. TYPO3 v14: Asset handling gets leaner - what's changing
TYPO3 v14 tidies up asset handling. HTTP Response Compression and Asset Concatenation will be removed. Many instances are not affected by this. There are sensible alternatives for the others. Compression is handled more efficiently by modern web servers. And with HTTP/2, asset concentration is often no longer necessary. 5 TYPO3 v14: Three Fluid 5 breaking changes for integrators
Fluid 5 in TYPO3 v14 brings three important breaking changes. CDATA is no longer used for commenting out. Variable names with underscore prefix are prohibited. In addition, ViewHelpers become more type-safe. Good to know: TYPO3 13.4.21 already warns you in the deprecation log if your templates are affected. The article explains how you can adapt your templates.
